Matt Tilton, MHC-LP
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Matt is proud to support clients of all identities both those within the community and those outside of it. He has experience working with individuals navigating self-discovery as well as a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues (monogamous and non-monogamous), trauma, substance use, and gender/sexual identity.
With a compassionate, nonjudgmental approach, Matt strives to create a safe space where clients can freely explore parts of themselves that may feel difficult to confront elsewhere. He meets clients where they are while offering gentle encouragement and challenge when needed to help them move toward their goals.
Matt’s therapeutic style is grounded in a psychodynamic, person-centered approach, with an emphasis on self-exploration and self-understanding. He also incorporates techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based practices, tailoring his approach to each individual’s unique needs. He recognizes that what works for one client may not work for another, and is committed to finding the right path forward together.
Matt understands that beginning therapy can be a vulnerable and courageous step. He believes that if a client is willing to show up and do their best, he will be there to walk alongside them in their journey toward better mental health.
