Hello, I'm Nick Kusner!

Nick is a resident therapist at Hudson Square Therapy. After 15 years in arts, nature, and philanthropic nonprofit administration—where he helped colleagues unblock processes, navigate relationships, and weigh their priorities on and off the job—he pivoted to mental health counseling to more directly focus on helping individuals find balance and purpose in life.

In therapy, Nick uses a holistic relational approach grounded in compassion and mindfulness, weaving empathy and humility to support clients on their journeys. He aims to create a space where clients feel seen, heard, and understood. He is particularly interested in working with queer and neurodivergent individuals, as well as those experiencing anxiety, work stress, grief, and life transitions.

Nick is currently completing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Antioch University. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from The Ohio State University. Outside of work, Nick loves traveling, hiking, and birding. He believes that safely immersing in nature can be especially grounding and restorative. He is also passionate about genealogy, art, music, and spending time with his partner and friends.
